The best way to travel around Istanbul is by buying an Istanbul Kart. You can find these cards almost everywhere. You need to pay a non-refundable 7 TL fee (for the actual card and the service), and of course an amount of your choice to load onto the card. To reload the card, you can either go to newsstands and small shops (look for the phrase Akbil Dolum Noktası) which offer this service, or use self-service special purpose machines at major transit stations. Each route costs 2.30 liras but if you use it again within a 1 hour period, then  you will pay less. From the Atatürk airport you can take a Havatas bus to Taksim which costs 11 TL per person, while the same service from Sabiha Gocken cost 14 TL. If you are a group of 3 or more people, then it is better for you to take a taxi. You will pay approximately 50-60 TL
